My Weight Loss Journey... So Far

This wellness journey has been a long road! A lot of trial and error seemed to get me one step forward and two steps back. Just over 10 years ago, I was at my heaviest weight - over 100lbs overweight. That's super hard to admit! 1-0-0 pounds.

Not long after that weigh-in, I succeeded in losing about 60lbs over the course of a year or so. Unfortunately, I did not sustain that loss. I spent the next few years yo-yoing. I'd lose 10, gain 5, lose 7, gain 10, etc. More recently, my weight started sneaking up and up, until I got too close for comfort to that heaviest weight. That was a real eye-opener! How could I let that happen?!? I struggled with how to approach it. How should I eat to break the cycle? What kinds of exercises should I do? Should I count calories? Should I consider surgery? I spent so much time trying to figure out where to begin that it took me quite a long time to actually begin.

Once I did, I'd do really well for a while and then a "cheat day" would become a "cheat week." Everything I did was so hard to keep doing. I would get frustrated or depressed and give up. Having a hysterectomy didn't help. The year after that, I was diagnosed with bipolar 2, ADHD, celiac, and food addiction. Busy year.

I let all of that get in the way of taking care of myself. That changed when I was introduced to plant-heavy keto. OMG! It's been a real game changer! I'm finally starting to feel better. I'm controlling my food addiction, getting a grip on my bipolar, and actually losing weight! It's really amazing!

I'm grateful to my coach, mentor, and friend, Barbara, for showing me that I can reap the benefits of a keto diet and still have all the veggies I love, and that Juice Plus+ capsules incorporate nicely into a keto diet. Most days feel like "cheat days" when, in reality, I'm just eating real food and nourishing my body. I just don't get hungry or "snacky" like I used to.

Intermittent fasting is something I typically do by accident. Unless I'm genuinely hungry when I wake up, I don't eat breakfast. If I make a bulletproof coffee, it can take me all morning to sip it and then I forget to have lunch until I start to get hungry around 2-3pm. I try not to skip meals too often, though, because I don't want to overeat when I finally sit down to dinner.

I finally feel good about what I'm doing and how I'm doing. It hasn't been difficult to stay on track. It hasn't been difficult to make meals even though not everyone in my house is following a keto plan. Most of the time, they eat keto like me, they just don't realize it. Or I add rice or noodles to dinner for them. This is probably the easiest plan I've followed or even attempted. It seems so restrictive at first, but it becomes so easy so fast!

If you're looking for a weight loss plan that makes sense, isn't a scam or fad, improves your overall wellbeing, and is easy to follow, reach out to me today! I'm enjoying my wellness journey more than ever!
